What Is Happening?

There are several signs that indicate you’re having an issue with the drains underneath and inside your home. When a home is built one of the first things they do is lay the sewer system, before even completing the pour of the foundation. Therefore, in most cases your sewer system can be the oldest part of your home, and because it is in the ground you have to also take into account the way the earth will treat piping. Technology has advanced and allowed pipes to last
longer than ever before, but there isn’t much we can do about tree roots and shifting houses (the top two reasons for sewer line malfunctions).

Below are some simple ways to indicate if your sewer line or draining system may be clogged:

  • Stoppage of any kind, the first thing you should do is check outside to see where your cleanout is located (this is a white pipe sticking out of the ground for access to your sewer line. It should be located near the home either in front or the back yard), if it’s parallel to a tree, or in the mix of some bushes and you’re experiencing slow drainage you’re likely to have roots in your system as they are attracted to the water in your pipes.
  • Water backing up. For example: when you wash your clothes and water comes up in the sink/dishwasher. This is an immediate indicator that your kitchen drain line is clogged. More than likely grease from the kitchen or lint from the washer.
  • Slow draining. For Example: if you have noticed flushes seeming to take longer than usual, or most of the debris in the toilet is not allowing itself to go down or the tub seems to be accumulating water at your feet.
  • Strange smells coming from your drains
  •

If any of these issues are happening to you we want to help. Our plumbers will arrive at your house in a timely manner with state of the art equipment to get the job done right. Whether it’s a quick fix or a permanent solution, we will provide you with enough options to allow the decision making process to flow seamlessly.
